Chat Folders were first made available on Telegram in the month of March in the year 2020, and I was overjoyed. Our chat folders assist us in categorizing and organizing all of our chats.
Consider the following scenario: If you have joined news channels, anime groups, and college buddies’ groups, all of your discussions will appear in one spot, which may cause confusion.
You will have difficulty locating a conversation where you wish to share something if there are no Chat Folders. Chat folders are really useful in this situation.
It is possible to categorize your conversations into separate chat folders, such as Anime chats in the Anime folder, School groups in the personal folder, and so on.
To help you stay organized in your Telegram conversations, I’ll walk you through the process of creating chat folders.
The following are the procedures to take in order to create Telegram conversation folders:
The first step is to create a plan. Navigate to the Telegram Settings page.
To access Telegram settings, open the side menu and select the settings option from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Make a list of all of the things you want to do. Navigate to the Folders section of Telegram Settings.
When you are in Telegram settings, you must select the Folders option from the list of available options. It will open the Folders settings in Telegram as a result of this.
Step 3: Go to Telegram Settings and select Create Folders.
In the Folder settings, select “Establish New Folder” to create a new chat folder for all of your Telegram conversations.
Step 4: Create a name for your chat folder.
When creating a conversation folder, you must give the folder a name that will be used in the future. Simply enter a name in your conversation folder and then proceed with your day. If you’re aggregating news channels or groups, you should put “News” as the name of the Chat folder.
Step 5: Organize your conversations in the Telegram Chat Folder.
It is necessary to add Chats to the Telegram Chat folder after you have given it a name in the Telegram Chat folder. Continue by selecting Add Chats from the drop-down menu.
Step 6: Select the chats or chat groups that you want to include in the Chat Folders.
After selecting the “Add Chats” option, you will be prompted to select the Chats or predefined Chat groups that you wish to include in the new Chat Folder.
Step 7: Save the Telegram Chat Folder on your computer.
After you have added chats to chat folders, you must save the newly created Chat Folder.
I hope you found this essay useful, and I would appreciate it if you would spread the word about it on social media. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
You may now select Add Chats from the Excluded Chats menu to add any conversations that you do not wish to appear in the folder. The dynamic Chat Types for this purpose are as follows:
Muted: You should use it to exclude channels from your search results if you have turned off notifications.
Archived: Disables the display of archived chats. When you archive a chat, it is no longer visible in your account, but it will reappear when a new message is received.
When you’re finished, click Create, and you’ll be presented with a new folder in Telegram. Make as many as you want by repeating the process. To make modifications, simply select a chat from the drop-down menu.
On mobile, your folders appear at the top of the page; simply tap one to reveal the conversations included within it.
Long-press on a folder to bring up a shortcut that allows you to edit it, remove it, or rearrange the order of your folders.
This can also be accomplished by returning to the Folders page. Swipe left on a folder to reveal the Delete button, or press Edit to move the folders about in the list.
It’s important to note that deleting a Telegram folder has no effect on the conversations contained within it. Removing a folder merely deletes the contents of that particular organizational bucket.
File folders display on the left side of the screen on the Telegram desktop, with icons corresponding to the folders you’ve selected for them. To quickly make changes to a folder, right-click on it and select Edit Folder from the context menu. Alternatively, click Edit at the bottom of the list to return to the Folders page.
Simply click and drag folders around to reorganize them.
It’s important to note that modifications to folders will sync across devices, so you won’t have to re-create them if you use Telegram on many platforms.
The order and contents of the items will be synced immediately.
Within each folder, the standard Telegram organization options are available.
It will rise to the top of the list if a thread receives a new message (either from you or from another conversation participant).
To pin a conversation, right-click on it (on a desktop) or long-press it (on a mobile device) to see the Pin option, which will keep the thread at the top of the list. Telegram allows you to pin as many messages as you want to a single folder, and each message can be different from the others.
What if you appreciate the concept of folders but aren’t sure how to put them into action in your organization? To get you started, here are a couple Telegram folder ideas to get you thinking:
You should have a VIP (or similarly called) folder that contains the groups and persons with whom you spend the most time talking.
Unread messages are stored in an Unread folder, which is separate from the Read messages folder. This makes it simple to identify which threads you haven’t responded to yet.
A Channels chat is used so that you can keep up with channels, which are typically busy, while still being able to hear your individual conversations.
These are merely a few suggestions to get you started on your journey. Consider which chats you use the most and what gets in your way, and then consider creating folders around those conversations.
Telegram Folders to Keep the Chaos Under Control
You should now be able to create folders in Telegram to organize your conversations. These folders are well worth creating, whether you only want to separate business and personal discussions into two separate folders or want to utilize a dozen folders to keep track of everything you follow.
This is only one of the many fantastic Telegram features that you should be familiar with in the meanwhile, however.
